Part One of the review involved an assessment of the extent to which the current infrastructure is capable of supporting the government's broad objectives. This involved a survey of relevant international literature examining the best practice in the design of a standards and conformance infrastructure.

Part Two of the review involved an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the infrastructure.

The Ministry outsourced the work in Parts One and Two of the review to an external consultant. The consultants report and a summary of the report prepared by the Ministry are available below.
