An Internationally Competitive City – Auckland
Auckland has been cast by many commentators as being on the cusp of becoming a world-class city. To achieve this, the Auckland economy must also be transformed. Transformed, Auckland will become the home of globally competitive firms (and uncompetitive industries will vanish) supported by a first-class pool of skilled labour. It is likely that a transformed economy will find strength in its diversity, but depth in key sectors/industries. Through these key industries, Auckland’s international reputation will grow and its products and expertise will be sought throughout the world. Auckland will be seen as one of the best places in the world to live, do business, and visit.
