World Class Infrastructure
The infrastructure theme comprises ICT/broadband, energy, and transport.
Guided by the Digital Strategy, New Zealand is envisaged to have world class broadband performance, with provision and uptake in the top quartile of the OECD by 2010.
The public and business need confidence that energy supplies will be ongoing and secure at fair and efficient prices.
Transport infrastructure will support sustainable economic activity through increased and improved linkages between key commercial locations (domestic and foreign), residential areas, and employment centres, and more efficient movement of goods and people.
This theme is jointly led by MED and the Treasury.
