Energy Statistics and Projections from the Ministry of Economic Development are available in the Energy Information and Energy Modelling sections of the MED website.

Energy Information
The Ministry compiles statistics on supply, demand, prices and greenhouse gas emissions from the energy sector in order to provide baseline information, to fulfil New Zealand's international reporting obligations and to aid domestic policy development. Our two core publications the NZ Energy Data File and NZ Energy Greenhouse Gas Emissions may be purchased in hard copy and are accessible online at no charge.

Energy Modelling
The Ministry undertakes energy supply and demand modelling and produces projections of future energy supply, demand, prices and emissions for various scenarios. This supports the development of energy and environmental policies, as well as meeting New Zealand's reporting obligations under the Kyoto Protocol.
