Large Budget Screen Production Grant Review
The Large Budget Screen Production Grant (LBSPG) has been in place since 1 July 2003. It is a financial incentive used to attract large budget film and television productions to New Zealand. It provides a rebate on production expenditure over a certain value within New Zealand.
In 2003, Cabinet directed the Ministry of Economic Development to undertake a review of the LBSPG by 30 June 2006. That review was completed in March last year.
A further review of the bundling provisions of the grant was undertaken in 2006/07 and the results announced in July 2007.
