The 2005 Review of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of New Zealand and the Government of Australia on Coordination of Business Law
The Review of the 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on business law co-ordination with Australia [link to MFAT website] has been completed.
The MoU signed in 2000 was due for a review after five years.
The Terms of Reference for the 2005 review of the MoU noted that it was an opportunity to review the work programme and, in addition, identify any areas where the MoU might be strengthened.
We sought contributions to the review in July 2005. These submissions endorsed the continued relevance of the MoU and made useful suggestions for enhancings its effectiveness and new items for the work program.
The revised MoU was signed by Hon Lianne Dalziel and Hon Peter Costello on 22 February 2006.
