International visitor survey
The International Visitor Survey (IVS) measures the travel patterns and expenditure of international visitors to New Zealand. Data includes expenditure, places visited, activities/attractions, accommodation and transport.
The Ministry has recently redeveloped the IVS as part of Tourism Data Improvement Programme.

The Ministry is in the process of developing an online database for the dissemination of IVS data along with its other tourism series. Selected IVS tables are now available through the NZ.Stat platform managed by Statistics New Zealand.
