Christchurch Earthquake and the Visitor Sector report

We have commissioned a report that examines the public and private sectors’ response to the Christchurch earthquake and its impacts on the visitor sector.

The report was undertaken by the respected tourism academic Dr. Susanne Becken and highlights, among other findings, the need for emergency preparedness in the visitor sector. The report also advocates for cooperation between local civil defence and emergency management groups and regional tourism organisations.
