Innovation system changes
The government is currently in the process of implementing the recommendations of the Crown Research Institute (CRI) Taskforce, which are aimed at ensuring that CRIs are better able to respond to the needs of their end-users.
Budget 2010 also included an increase of $234 million of government assistance for a range of programmes that are intended to increase NZ businesses' level of investment in R&D, and to create better linkages between innovative firms and public research organisations.
