There were various stages of consultation on the proposed changes to the Crown Minerals Act regime.

 

Proposal to incorporate material by reference into regulations

The Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment gives notice that, subject to the enactment of the Crown Minerals (Permitting and Crown Land) Bill, it is proposed that material be incorporated by reference into regulations made under the Crown Minerals Act 1991.

Royalty regime for minerals submissions

The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment invited submissions on the Review of the Royalty Regime for Minerals as part of the review of the Crown Minerals Act 1991 regime. Submissions closed on 7 December 2012.

Draft minerals programmes

Public feedback was sought on the Draft Minerals Programme for Petroleum and the Draft Minerals Programme for Minerals (excluding petroleum).

Crown Minerals (Permitting and Crown Land) Bill

Introduced to Parliament on 20 September 2012, the Crown Minerals (Permitting and Crown Land) Bill sets out proposed changes to the Crown Minerals Act 1991.

Crown Minerals Act regime proposals and submissions

At an early stage in the review, public feedback was sought on a discussion paper setting out the initial proposals for updating and improving the Crown Minerals Act regime.

Transitional arrangements

The Ministry sought feedback on a supplementary paper discussing transitional arrangements for existing permit holders to the proposed changes new Crown Minerals Act regime.
