2011 scholarship winners
The winners of the 2011 business scholarships were:
Nevin studied an Advanced Management Programme through INSEAD Singapore Campus. The programme was a four week intensive programme. Nevin when awarded the Scholarship was Chief Supply Chain Manager based in Tauranga, but has since been promoted to General Manager – North East Asia and is now based in Japan. Comvita is a successful natural health products company, committed to the development of innovative natural health and wellbeing products, backed by credible scientific research. This Te Puke based company currently sell their products in over 18 countries.
Matthew completed an Advanced Management Programme through INSEAD Fontainebleau Campus, France. The AMP course is an intensive four week programme. Matthew is General Manager - Transporation at Beca Infrastructure Limited, an engineering and consultancy company. Beca’s headquarters are located in Auckland, which is also where Matthew is based.
Ben attended the eight week Advanced Management Programme through Harvard Business School in the United States. Ben is currently General Manager Strategic Development for the Gough Group and a member of the senior executive team which is working on a strategy to improve their business in Australia and the Pacific Islands. The Gough Group has been trading in New Zealand for 80 years and was co-founded by Ben’s grandfather the late Tracy T Gough. Ben lives and works in Christchurch.
James has completed a management short course at Harvard Business School in Boston. James is Global Chief Marketing Officer at Tait Radio Communications. Tait is a global leader in designing and delivering innovative, world-class radio communication solutions for a variety of industries, including public safety, utilities and urban transport providers. They are continually looking for growth opportunities in overseas markets. Tait is a Christchurch based company where James lives and works.
John has completed a one-year Sloan Masters in Leadership and Strategy at the London Business School. McVicar Timber Ltd operates in the primary forest and manufacturing sector producing value added sawn timber for NZ and overseas markets. John expects this course to develop his skills in leadership, strategy and decision-making for the purpose of developing new overseas markets. McVicar Timber and John are based in Christchurch.
