Deputy Secretary, Commercial Solutions

I joined the Ministry of Economic Development in November 2009 as Chief Information Officer in the Information Technology Group. I was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Commercial Solutions Branch in November 2010.

Before joining the Ministry, I worked as an independent consultant in the areas of technology, management and organisational dynamics, across New Zealand and Australia.

Prior to that, I was part of the executive team at Telecom, as the Group General Manager Technology and Shared Services (and previously, the Group Technology Officer). While at Telecom, I was instrumentally involved in the operational separation negotiations and gained extensive experience in both IT architecture and investment strategy.

I’ve also worked in the finance and banking sector, with Westpac.

I have a BSc in Computer Science with Statistics from Massey University.
