Summary
All government agencies and suppliers are invited to provide feedback and input into the draft new Rules of Government Procurement. The rules are based on New Zealand’s commitments under free trade agreements.
The current Mandatory Rules for Procurement apply to Public Service departments, New Zealand Police and New Zealand Defence Force. MBIE is reviewing the types of agencies that are required to apply the Rules. In future, some State Services agencies may be required to apply the Rules.
The deadline for consultation is Friday 12 October 5pm.
