[internal link] Full report | Economic Development Indicators 2011: Full report [3.7 MB PDF]. The 2011 Economic Development Indicators track New Zealand’s medium-term economic performance over time and compared with other OECD countries.

This report, together with previous reports, provides an objective, comprehensive and medium- to long-term picture of New Zealand’s economic performance using a broad range of relevant indicators.  These include high-level outcomes, such as economic growth, and also the underlying factors, such as innovation and investment that drive growth.

The main purpose of the report is to inform economic policy and provide a basis for people to debate the direction of the New Zealand economy.  The indicators also provide a valuable information base to monitor progress towards economic goals, and to measure New Zealand's performance over time and against other countries.

This report has been produced by the Ministry in conjunction with the Treasury and Statistics New Zealand.  It updates and expands the three previous reports.
