Organisational Development and Support branch

I’m Lisa Barrett, Deputy Secretary of the Organisational Development and Support branch at the Ministry of Economic Development.

Our branch focuses on the management of the Ministry as a whole.

Our teams

Communications

We provide internal and external communications support across the Ministry, working with branches on an account management basis and liaises with Ministers’ press secretaries.

Evaluation

We lead the evaluation of the Ministry of Economic Development’s programmes and initiatives.

Finance and Facilities

We manage financial systems, services and advice, management of MED Head Office facilities and oversight of regional offices.

Human Resources

We provide support across the Ministry including development, pay and performance and recruitment.

Legal

We provide legal advice on the policy process and legislative development, interpretation and enforcement, public law procedures and operations, and the Ministry’s corporate issues such as contracts. We also manage any court proceedings involving the Ministry and liaise with Crown Law and Parliamentary Counsel.

Strategy, Accountability and Information

We lead the Ministry’s work on organisational strategy, performance, accountability and information management. This includes coordination of Ministerial correspondence and Official Information Act requests.
